Overall grade: C+ · Below category median

You sit in the 35th percentile within DeFi Lending. Biggest pull-downs: AI visibility and schema. Technical SEO is strong. A focused 4-week sprint on AEO and schema would lift the grade to B-.

Top 3 issues pulling your grade down

  1. Missing FinancialProduct schema across 14 lending market pages. Without it, AI models cannot identify these pages as lending products. Single biggest contributor to the D+ schema grade. Fix: ship the FinancialProduct JSON-LD pattern from the Token Schema library across all market pages. ~1 hour of dev time.
  2. Low ChatGPT citation rate (40% vs category median 60%). Your domain appears in 2 of 5 ChatGPT prompts tested. Strongest gap is on category comparison prompts ("compare Aave Compound Morpho"). Fix: add factual density to the head-term landing pages and ship FAQPage schema on the top 12 lending pages. ~6 hours.
  3. Founder Person entities missing on /team/ pages. Strong YMYL signal absent. AI models cite domains with verifiable founder identity more often. Fix: add Person JSON-LD with sameAs to GitHub, Twitter and LinkedIn for each founder. ~30 min per founder.

// Why a grade beats a score

Why one A-F grade is more useful than five different scores

Numerical scores need interpretation. Is 62 good? Bad? Average? Depends entirely on what category the site is in.

C55-69
B70-82
A83-100
Score: 62 in DeFi Lending

Below median. Grade C. Behind ~55% of the category.

Score: 62 in NFT Marketplace

Above median. Grade B-. Ahead of ~60% of the category.

01

Calibrated to category, not absolute

Same numerical score means different things in different categories. A grade collapses category context into one signal.

02

Built from real crypto audits

The curve is drawn from Crawlux's audit history across hundreds of crypto sites in each major category, refreshed quarterly.

03

Diagnosis, not a badge

The grader is built for finding what to fix, fast. Not for embedding on your site as a marketing badge.

What B and C actually mean

A B grade means you sit in the top 25% of your category. A C means you sit at the median. The curve does the interpretation work for you.

For full per-page scoring with copy-paste fixes, see the paid audit tiers. The grader is calibrated, the audit is actionable.

Common questions about the grader

If you have a question not answered here, the full pricing page explains the upgrade path.

What does the Crypto SEO Grader measure?

Five dimensions: Technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, crawlability, structured data validity), AI Visibility (citation rate across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude), schema coverage (FinancialProduct, CryptoExchange, Organization), trust signals (audit firm citations, founder identity, YMYL compliance) and content quality (depth, factual density, readability). Each dimension produces a 0-100 score that maps to an A-F grade. The overall grade is a weighted average.

Why use a single grade instead of a numerical score?

Numerical scores require interpretation: is 62 good or bad? A grade is calibrated against the category. A grade of B in DeFi lending means top 25% of category; a grade of C means median. The grader uses a crypto-aware curve so the grade reflects competitive position, not absolute score. The full audit gives you both the numerical score and the grade for every dimension.

Is this really free?

Yes. The basic grade (one domain) is free, no signup required. We rate-limit free checks per IP to manage API costs. The grader is intentionally less detailed than the full audit so the free tier is economical to offer; the full audit module covers every page on your domain across all 8 modules with prioritized fixes.

How is the grading curve calibrated?

The grader detects your crypto category (DeFi lending, DEX, NFT, wallet etc.) using the same Crypto Keyword Intent Classifier as the full audit. Each dimension is then scored against the median for that category, drawn from CoinGecko categories, DefiLlama TVL rankings and Crawlux's own audit history across crypto sites. A B grade in DeFi lending is meaningfully different from a B grade in NFT marketplace because the categories have different baselines.

What is the top 3 issues section?

Below the grade card, the report shows the three highest-impact issues pulling your grade down. These are weighted by closeability: high-impact, low-effort fixes appear first. The free version surfaces the issues with brief reasoning; the full audit includes copy-paste fixes for each one.

Can I run this on competitor domains?

Yes. The grader accepts any public domain. Running it on competitors gives you a quick read on relative position before running the full Crawlux Competitor Analysis module which automatically benchmarks you against the top 20 sites in your category with prompt-by-prompt verdicts.

How accurate is the free grade vs the full audit?

The free grader runs ~25 of the 80+ checks the full audit covers, weighted to be representative. The grade is reliable as a directional read, but the full audit can produce a different verdict on individual dimensions because it sees signals the free check skips. Most teams use the grader for quick assessment, then upgrade for the full audit when they want the prioritized fix list.

Does the grader cover smart contract security?

Smart contract security is not part of the free grade because it requires deeper on-chain analysis (GoPlus Honeypot Detection, GoPlus Security Scan, tokenomics buy/sell tax detection) that is included in Pro and Team tiers. The free grade focuses on the 5 SEO dimensions that all crypto sites share regardless of whether they have a token.

Want the full audit with prioritized fixes?

The grader gives you a topline score. Crawlux is our free audit tool that scans your full domain and breaks the score down across 8 specific areas with action items for each. Takes about 4 minutes. No signup, no credit card.
