Section 01
// What is not allowed

Prohibited categories

Seven categories of action are prohibited on Crawlux. Each category groups specific behaviors with consistent enforcement treatment. Violation severity within each category determines the consequence.

01

Illegal content

Submitting domains hosting content illegal in the relevant jurisdiction. Includes fraud schemes, illicit financial services and content promoting illegal activity.

02

Malware and phishing

Submitting domains known to host malware, phishing pages or other harmful executable content. Crawlux does not audit known malicious domains.

03

Harassment and harm

Using the service to harass, defame, intimidate or otherwise harm individuals or organizations. Includes weaponizing audit findings against private individuals.

04

Reverse engineering

Attempting to reverse-engineer the audit engine, extract proprietary calibration data or replicate the methodology in unauthorized form.

05

Unauthorized resale

Reselling Free or Pro tier audits as your own without explicit white-label authorization. Team tier supports authorized white-labeling.

06

Limit circumvention

Attempts to bypass rate limits, tier restrictions or billing controls. Includes multiple-account creation to extend free tier benefits.

07

Systematic scraping

Scraping crawlux.com beyond normal browser use, automating dashboard interactions or extracting data through unauthorized means.

08

Authorization required

Submitting domains where authorization is required and you do not have it. Public commercial websites are fine; private or internal domains may not be.

09

Spam and unsolicited use

Mass-submitting domains for promotional purposes, or using the service to generate content for spam outreach campaigns.

Every action can be appealed

Even immediate terminations have a 30-day appeal window. Email [email protected] with your explanation. Reviews complete within 10 business days. Incorrect actions get full reinstatement plus credit for lost service days.

Section 03
// 4-step enforcement

Enforcement process

How the abuse and enforcement system actually works. Four steps from detection through final decision. The process is the same whether the violation was reported by a user, detected by automation or flagged by a partner.

Step 01

Detection

Violations are detected through three channels: automated abuse detection (rate anomalies, malware signatures), user reports via [email protected] and partner-reported issues from upstream providers.

Step 02

Investigation

Reports are reviewed within 5 business days. Severe violations (illegal content, malware, fraud) are investigated within 24 hours. The account holder is contacted unless investigation requires it to remain silent.

Step 03

Action

Action determined by the severity table above. The account holder receives an email explaining the violation, the action taken, the duration if applicable and the appeal path.

Step 04

Appeal

Every action can be appealed within 30 days via [email protected]. Appeals are reviewed by a different person from the original investigator. Decisions returned within 10 business days.

Section 04
// How to report

Reporting abuse

If you encounter abuse of the Crawlux service or believe the service is being used to harm someone, report it. Reports are taken seriously and investigated within 5 business days.

Confidential reports are protected as feasible. Where the violation involves harm to identifiable individuals, reports may be forwarded to relevant authorities even if the reporter requested confidentiality. Reports made in bad faith (knowingly false) may themselves constitute a violation.

// AUP FAQ

Common questions

Six questions covering enforcement, competitor audits, abuse reporting, appeals, white-label resale and rate limits.

What happens if I violate the acceptable use policy?

Consequences scale with severity. Minor violations get a warning email with 7 days to remedy. Repeated or moderate violations result in temporary suspension lasting 30 to 90 days. Severe violations including illegal content, fraud or harassment trigger immediate permanent termination. Every action includes the right to appeal via [email protected].

Can I audit competitor domains?

Crawlux audits read publicly accessible information from submitted domains. There is no technical or legal restriction on auditing competitor domains. The acceptable use policy only requires that you have permission for any domain that requires authorization to audit. Public commercial websites do not require authorization.

How do I report abuse of the service?

Email [email protected] with details: the audit ID or user reference if known, the violation type from the prohibited actions list, supporting evidence and your contact information. Reports are reviewed within 5 business days. Confidential reports are protected as feasible.

What if my account is suspended in error?

All enforcement actions can be appealed via [email protected] within 30 days. Include your account email, the action taken and your explanation. Appeals are reviewed within 10 business days. If the action was incorrect, full reinstatement plus credit for any lost service days.

Can I resell Crawlux audits to my clients?

Yes, but only via the Team tier with white-label customization. Reselling Free or Pro tier audits as your own service is prohibited. Team tier white-label audits can be presented under your agency brand. The reseller program offers structured terms for high-volume resellers including 40 to 50 percent partner pricing.

Are there rate limits on audit submissions?

Yes. Free tier allows one audit per unique domain forever. Pro and Team tiers allow paid audits up to the purchase volume with no monthly cap. Submission rate is throttled at 5 audits per minute per account to protect upstream providers. Bulk audit needs are best served by the Enterprise tier with dedicated infrastructure.
