Cookie policy sections
01What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They serve different purposes: keeping you logged in, remembering preferences, measuring how a site is used or (in many cases) tracking behavior across sites for advertising.
This policy explains exactly which cookies Crawlux places, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you can control them. Crawlux uses cookies sparingly and avoids advertising cookies entirely.
In plain language
Cookies that make Crawlux work, plus optional analytics. No ad cookies, no cross-site tracking, no data sold to third parties.
02Cookies we use
Complete inventory of cookies set by Crawlux when you visit crawlux.com or use the dashboard. Updated whenever the cookie set changes.
| Cookie name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| crawlux_session | Strictly necessary | Maintains your dashboard session and authentication state | Session | First-party |
| crawlux_csrf | Strictly necessary | CSRF protection for dashboard form submissions | Session | First-party |
| crawlux_theme | Strictly necessary | Stores your dark/light theme preference | 1 year | First-party |
| crawlux_consent | Strictly necessary | Records your cookie consent choices | 1 year | First-party |
| crawlux_locale | Strictly necessary | Stores your language and locale preference | 1 year | First-party |
| _pa_visitor | Analytics | Aggregates anonymous visitor metrics | 30 days | First-party |
| _pa_session | Analytics | Aggregates anonymous session-level metrics | 24 hours | First-party |
| __stripe_mid | Strictly necessary | Fraud prevention during Stripe checkout | 1 year | Third-party (Stripe) |
| __stripe_sid | Strictly necessary | Stripe session tracking during checkout | 30 minutes | Third-party (Stripe) |
| cf_clearance | Strictly necessary | Cloudflare bot challenge clearance | 1 year | Third-party (Cloudflare) |
The crawlux_consent cookie records exactly which optional cookies you have accepted. If you decline analytics, the _pa_visitor and _pa_session cookies are not set on subsequent visits.
03Cookie categories
Crawlux uses two cookie categories. We deliberately do not use a third category that most sites do: advertising and tracking cookies.
04Duration breakdown
Different cookies last different amounts of time. The visualization below shows relative durations, from session-only cookies that disappear when you close the browser to the longest-lived 1-year cookies.
Cookie duration comparison
Scale: session to 1 year05Managing your preferences
You can manage cookies in two ways: through the Crawlux consent banner shown on your first visit, or through your browser settings.
What happens when you opt out of analytics
If you opt out of analytics cookies, the _pa_visitor and _pa_session cookies are not set. You can still use Crawlux normally. We will not be able to count your visit in aggregate metrics, which has no impact on your experience.
06Third-party cookies
Crawlux uses three third-party cookies, all in the strictly necessary category. These are required for payment processing and bot protection. Each is documented in the cookie inventory in section 2.
07Updates and contact
We update this cookie policy whenever the cookie inventory changes (cookies added, removed or renamed). The version number and last reviewed date at the top of this page reflect the current version. Material changes are communicated via email to active users.
